This workshop is not meant to teach entrepreneurs how to develop strategies, as it is the entrepreneurs themselves who truly understand their own companies! The hazardous chemicals industry in China has faced increasing regulatory scrutiny in recent years, with the introduction of traceability code policies across different provinces and municipalities. Starting with Guangdong Province in 2021, these policies have introduced QR codes to enhance safety, traceability, and oversight of hazardous chemicals. However, the lack of a unified national approach has led to significant challenges for companies. With each region enforcing its own version of the QR code requirements, compliance has become inconsistent and costly for businesses operating across multiple regions. Moreover, the lack of national endorsement for a single, standardised approach has made companies hesitant to invest in necessary system modifications, such as changes to SAP systems, which are resource and time-intensive.

The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China is delighted to invite you to our Shanghai Celebration Dinner on 24th September 2024.
The Shanghai Celebration Dinner is an opportunity to celebrate the close partnership between European-China business relations in Shanghai, while connecting with government officials from Shanghai and the neighbouring provinces, members of the European business and diplomatic community and promoting your brand.
Shanghai, being one of the most international cities in China, is home to over 610 member companies of the European Chamber. In 2024, with Shanghai making efforts to optimise business environment and advance market opening, the European community remains deeply engaged in the city’s policy and economic development. Entering the fourth quarter of the year, it is high time to celebrate the achievements made over the past year between European companies, the EU and Chinese stakeholders and look into the future for collaborations to come in 2025.
At the previous dinners, we brought together more than 70 local government officials and a total of 300 participants. We were thrilled to welcome leaders of the Shanghai Municipal Government and various government department leaders, as well as the EU Ambassador to China and EU Consuls General over a business dinner in a unique atmosphere.
This year again, the European Chamber Shanghai is honoured to invite the Head of Delegation of the European Union to the People's Republic of China as guest of honour.

On 23rd September, the European Chamber Shanghai Chapter will launch the European Business in China Position Paper 2024/2025 (Position Paper 2024/2025), the culmination of six months dedicated work by our 50 working groups, sub-working groups, desks and fora. This year’s Executive Position Paper focuses on the lack of progress made by the Chinese authorities on pro-business reform pledges announced in the past year.

The European Chamber, in partnership with Residence G, is organizing an event to enable member company employees to donate blood, with minimal organisational constraints. This event is supported by Shenzhen Bienvenue. As the winner of the 2023 European Chamber CSR Award, Residence G has been organizing blood donor days since 2018, under the leadership of General Manager Blandine Cressard.

The blood donation will take place on September 21st, from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm, facilitated by the Shenzhen Blood Center in a hospital bus located on the left side of the Residence G Lobby entrance, between Residence G and Office Tower 2.
