In corporate branding and marketing practice, the media and self-media are the communication bridges that should be used. Media and self-media are different and have their own attributes. According to different communication purposes, companies must establish their own media lists and media relations, and companies must maintain media relations in an organized way for a long term. How to leverage media well is a long-term compulsory course for companies. In addition to media with editing rights, corporate communications often cooperate with self-media. However, self-media lacks restraint and management, which causes chaos. In this case, the enterprise seems to be trapped in the black forest when it must move forward and meanwhile safeguard business against risks. It’s not easy to understand the different characteristics and styles of media, judge the true value of media and self-media, so as to select cooperative media suitable for corporate goals.

As one of the indicators for green economy and sustainable development, carbon neutrality has been a constant pursuit for China in recent years. With this in mind, the rise of new energy vehicles (NEV) has depicted a promising future for achieving carbon neutrality and thus a sustainably developing society. Sales of electric, plug-in hybrid and hydrogen-powered vehicles in China, the world’s biggest auto market, are forecast to rise to 20% of overall new car sales by 2025 from just 5% at the end of 2020, according to the State Council of China. NEV-related industries such as charging stations have also been developing fast in recent years.

As opportunities, news, and policies are quickly evolving around sustainable development and its outlook, this event aims to shed light on the current state of NEV and its related industries.
Experts will share their view on current policies and perspectives on what is to come for this industry.

Advanced manufacturing as an industry grew rapidly during China’s 13th Five-Year Plan (2016 - 2020), with the added value of high-tech manufacturing and equipment manufacturing accounting for 15.1% and 33.7% of the added value of industrial output. As the pandemic has disrupted the industrial framework in most western countries, China recovering quicker has a unique advantage in the industry. China should see innovation and technological development as drivers of productivity growth.

Taking the above into consideration, the 14th Five-Year Plan puts greater emphasis on advanced manufacturing. The Plan calls for cultivating advanced manufacturing industry clusters to promote innovation and foster the development of a range of technology industries, including integrated circuits. The European Chamber is honoured to invite the Zhoushan Municipal Government and Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province to discuss the recent development of advanced manufacturing and further opportunities for foreign companies in China.
