In order to improve essential skills for influencing others and the foundations for personal leadership as well as negotiation and sales, two series of training will be held jointly by the European Chamber and Sino Associates. The training contains two series: Effective Business Communication and Negotiating and Sales Skills. This course will be conducted in English.

Dear Members,

The PCR Working Group is pleased to invite you to its 2022 Kick-off Meeting, Chair Elections and Position Paper Discussion on Friday 25th March 2022 15:00 to 17:00 at the European Chamber’s Beijing and Shanghai offices, as well as online via Zoom.

The first part of this meeting will consist of a keynote presentation on investment opportunities in the chemicals industry from by MR. Song Lei, Director of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industry Department商务部投资促进事务局医药化工部 宋雷主任 and MR. Zhang Zening, Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industry Department from Investment Promotion Bureau (CIPA Pharmaceuticals & Chemicals Department) Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM).


The second part of this meeting will consist of the 2022-2023 Chair Elections and Position Paper Discussion. Candidates running for the elections will introduce themselves and their goals for the Environment Working Group over the next 12 months. Only PCR WG members who have their registration confirmed for this meeting will have the right to vote in person or online, with one vote per company.

Working Group members interested in running for this year’s Chair elections, should take notice of the following:

Roles and Responsibilities
The Chairperson and Vice Chairs play a crucial role in driving the Working Group, including a leadership role in the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to Chinese and European government authorities and steering Working Group meetings. The desired characteristics of a Chair and Vice Chairs are a senior industry representative with relevant expertise and government contacts who has the time and willingness to support the Working Group. Previous participation in the Working Group is essential.

The maximum duration of Chairperson or Vice Chairperson of a Group is three consecutive years. Candidates are only eligible for Chair or Vice Chair positions if he/she is physically based in China. The Environment Working Group is going to elect one National Chair and one Vice Chair (in the Beijing and Shanghai chapters).

If you are interested in running for Chair or Vice Chair, please read the attached Starter Kit for Chairs and submit the following information to ssam@europeanchamber.com.cn before Friday 18th March COB

• Short resume/CV and photo
• Motivation letter on why you wish to be elected Chair or Vice Chair, including:
- why you wish to be elected Chair or Vice Chair;
- how your background and experience match the role;
- the goals you have for the PCR working group over the following 12 months;
- how you intend to utilise or share professional resources for the benefit of the Working Group;
- whether you hold a position in another Chamber or industry association.

2021 is the first year of the 14th Five-year Plan’, which contains several critical strategic work plans for medical devices. It is against this background that the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, in collaboration with the European Trade Association Representing the Medical Imaging, Radiotherapy, Health ICT and Electromedical Industries (COCIR), will hold the European Chamber Third Medical Device Forum in Beijing from 24th - 25th March, 2022.
