With this in mind, the rise of new energy vehicles (NEV) has depicted a promising future for achieving carbon neutrality and thus a sustainably developing society. Sales of electric, plug-in hybrid and hydrogen-powered vehicles in China, the world’s biggest auto market, are forecast to rise to 20% of overall new car sales by 2025 from just 5% at the end of 2020, according to the State Council of China. NEV-related industries such as charging stations have also been developing fast in recent years.
