Technology has transformed the way the world does business.  Last year was a stark reminder why incorporating technology and digitalizing into core business strategies is a must.  Now, the ability to remotely manage key accounting and financial processes has become essential and necessary for many firms to compete.

To succeed in this digital era, companies must revisit existing and backbone accounting management processes, and digitalize core aspects such as their expense and approvals process.

To help companies better understand how to drive digital transformation in their accounting and financial processing systems, the European Chamber Nanjing chapter is pleased to invite Dezan Shira & Associates’ Accounting Services and Information Services teams to highlight through case studies, how small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as mid-caps in China can implement and benefit from these changes.

From automating the collection of expense and reimbursement information to analyzing and presenting key metrics for key decisions makers, each step of the digitalization process and their accompanying benefits (such as improved internal controls and stronger compliance from the tax perspective) will be explained in an easily understandable way.

In this seminar, Dezan Shira experts will demonstrate how, through a digital expense management application, the following outcomes can be realized: 

• Improved tax compliance and internal controls;
• Synchronization with a financial management system or ERP and automated transactions posting;
• Compliance of an organization’s E-invoice management with the China tax system;
• Automated digital archiving of official tax invoices, with direct link to financial transactions in the ERP;
• Increased speed and ease and lower cost of employee reimbursements and approvals processes.

Adam Livermore is an equity partner at Dezan Shira & Associates. Born in London, he has been living in China for the past sixteen years and is proficient in Chinese and Japanese.
Adam is based in our Dalian office where he manages both client-facing resources as well as several internal functions for the firm. Adam has been exposed to most areas of the firm’s broad range of operations but has a particular specialization in the areas of Human Resources in China, relating to both the legal and administrative aspects. He also possesses a comprehensive understanding of the key legal and accounting topics related to foreign direct investment in China.
Adam regularly contributes to Asia Briefing’s series of technical guides and provides technical insight for Asia Briefing's business websites. Recently a key focus of his is how to leverage ERP systems and other tools to integrate, localize and automate accounting work.

Phoebe Yan is a Group Information System Manager at Dezan Shira & Associates, based in the Dalian office. Besides managing the Information System team to provide customized application systems for supporting business operations across Dezan Shira & Associates’ network of offices worldwide, she also provides IS consulting services to the firm’s clients.
Phoebe has more than seven years of experience in the Information System industry and focuses on Dynamics AX ERP implementation, system administration, and other applications development using ASP.NET and SharePoint.
She graduated from Dalian University of Technology with bachelor’s degree Software Engineering. Additionally, she also qualified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) in 2016.

Sam Jiang is a Manager of the Corporate Accounting Service team at Dezan Shira & Associates’ Shanghai office. He joined Dezan in the spring of 2011, serving more than 30 international clients of different industries in regards to accounting, financing, and taxation services.
With more than nine years of experience in financial and accounting practices, Sam is experienced in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and regular tax filing of all sorts of local entities, including multinational manufacturers, trading WFOEs, service WFOEs, and ROs. Before joining Dezan Shira & Associates, Sam worked at a trading company as a logistics and financial manager for more than three years.
Sam Jiang obtained a bachelor’s degree in 2007 at the Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, and went on to get his master’s degree in accounting from Renmin University of China in 2015.
