Want to be a pilot when you grew up?
- Lufthansa cockpit crew visited British School of Nanjing

Students at European Chamber Member, British School of Nanjing recently received a treat courtesy of fellow member Lufthansa. During his layover in Nanjing, cockpit crew leader, Mr. Thomas Mantels gave a lecture for the kids about what is involved in working on an airplane and some details about life as an airline pilot.  Around a dozen five year old kids participated in the lecture on 16th June and all enjoyed the chance to go onboard Lufthansa aircraft during ground time on before boarding.

The kids were fascinated by the exciting profession and questions were flying during the lecture. Mr. Mantels showed patience when answering all their questions and the skills of a teacher when explaining some of the most common the flying vocabulary.

On June 18th, the kids received their individual airport passes and went onboard the Lufthansa aircraft. They were well received by the crew on the LH781 flight and all enjoyed the chance to visit  the cockpit and chat with the Captain and cockpit crew.  Although many of the children have many chances to fly, it was really a unique chance for them to take photos with the pilots and meet crew and see the cockpit.
