European Union Chamber of Commerce in China Launches Chengdu Business Guide 2010

CHENGDU, 3rd March 2010 - The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China today launched the 2010 edition of its Chengdu Business Guide at a press conference in the city of Chengdu, Sichuan province. Now in its second edition, the Chengdu Business Guide is a comprehensive reference handbook for companies doing business in Chengdu or considering moving to the city.

“The real strength of the Chengdu Business Guide 2010 lies in its locally sourced and developed content. Everything in this book has been produced by people already living and working here – both foreigners and locals, large multinationals and smaller consultancies. As such, it’s an unrivalled source of accurate, on-the-ground information,” said Paul Sives, Chairman of European Chamber Chengdu. “This should be the first resource someone picks up when they start planning to do business in Chengdu.”

The Chengdu Business Guide 2010 is the most comprehensive free publication of its kind currently available. It provides a complete overview of the business environment in Chengdu – from current market trends and case studies to interviews with local business leaders and information on establishing a company in the city. It also offers an insight on what life is like in this popular and fast-developing city.

The Chengdu Business Guide 2010 was launched at a press conference in the Kempinski Hotel, Chengdu this afternoon. Mr. Ge Hong Lin, Mayor of Chengdu, delivered a keynote address, which was followed by remarks by Mr. Paul Sives, the Chairman of the European Chamber’s Chengdu Chapter, Mr. Shi Lei from the Chengdu Investment & Promotion Bureau, and Mr. Martin Reidy, National Director of Marketing, Membership and Communications at the European Chamber.

The Chengdu Business Guide 2010 will be available both in a limited edition hard copy format, and a soft-copy PDF format. For more information, or to request a copy of the Chengdu Business Guide 2010, please contact the European Chamber Chengdu office at +86 (028) 8529 3447 or chengdu@euccc.com.cn.
