Successful Europe Day Party in Chengdu

The Chengdu Chapter of the European Chamber held a successful Europe Day Party on Friday, May 12 at the Kempinski hotel. More than 200 guests of various nationalities gathered that night to attend the event, including the consuls from France, Germany and Britain, also some governmental officials from Chengdu city and Sichuan Province. The celebration started with a concert performed by singers from Sichuan Conservatory of Music, including extracts of Opera and European songs.  After the wonderful concert, the guests were invited into the main hall, where the European Union Anthem was being broadcasted around. Mr Pascal Hermandesse, chairman of Chengdu Board gave the welcome address, after which the guests enjoyed an impressive buffet consisting of tastes of Europa in the slow and relaxed live music. The most excited moment during the whole night should go to the lucky draw, which included free accommodation and meal provided by Kempinski, Sofitel and Chongqing Harbour Plaza, and two round-trip flight tickets from Chengdu to Europe provided by KLM. Then, when a Philippine band walked on the stage, the dancing party began. Diversified melodies led people travel to a romantic voyage, from east to west, from Asia to Europe. The European Chamber would like to thank the sponsors of the event once again for their support: KLM and Groupama. Last but not least we thank all the guests who attended and we look forward to seeing you again next year!
