Visit of Shanghai Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (SAEFI)

On the invitation of Chairman Sha Lin, Dominique de Boisseson, VP of the European Chamber and Chairman of the local board, together with Thomas Felber paid a courtesy visit to the Shanghai Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (SAEFI) on August 24th to deepen mutual understanding.

Founded in 1988, SAEFI is a non-profit organization, approved by the Municipality of Shanghai, composed of several thousand members and funded by foreign businessmen also including those from HK, Macao and Taiwan. With the help of extensive support from senior local government, SAEFI's focus lies in strengthening mutual cooperation among its members and with the local government. Another main function is to distribute pertinent information relating to state policies, laws and regulation.

The European Chamber, with a similar mission, has been asked to propose options on how to foster links between both organizations for follow up meetings on Sept.1st and 5th. At that occasion it was decided to have SAEFI participating in an upcoming breakfast seminar in the Autumn to give an introduction of their wide-ranging services. Further steps for a progressive and mutually beneficial partnership have been conceived and will be carried out over the coming months.
