On July 25th, the Shanghai Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (SAEFI), the Shanghai Foreign Economic Relations & Trade Commission (SMERT) and the Shanghai Foreign Investment Commission (FID) jointly held an award ceremony to recognize the efforts of foreign invested enterprises in the field of CSR. The meeting was lead by Vice Mayor Tang Dengjie, Mr. Zhou Bo of SMERT and Mr. Sha Lin of SAEFI.

Many European Chamber members were honoured during the event that saw a number of international companies given the opportunity to showcase their efforts in the field of CSR. Speeches were made by industry representatives and government officials highlighting that CSR needs the leadership of government and the integrity of industry to see the benefits of accepting responsibility within the community, and aligning this responsibility with corporate strategy.

The European Chamber was delighted to be involved in the event and looks forward to more cooperation with these agencies on this and many other topics.
