European Chamber in Pearl River Delta meets Guangzhou Customs

In early May, the Pearl River Delta Board Members met the Guangzhou Customs in the SDV  Guangzhou office. During the meeting, the Chair of the European Chamber presented the European Business in China 2007/2008 Position Paper to the Guangzhou Customs, gave an introduction on the Chamber and discussed cooperation possibilities with the customs authority. The discussions were very fruitful and practical in nature.

Having received the questions from European Chamber Members in advance, the Customs representative, Ms Chen Yong Fang, provided detailed answers during the meeting . She informed the Chamber representatives about the overall Customs organisation and the connections among the various departments. In the meeting, the European Chamber learnt about the existence of a number of hotline services; Members who wish to receive further information about these hotlines, should contact the European Chamber PRD offices.

The Guangzhou Customs expressed their interest in supporting the European Chamber Members through the Logistics Working Group, and at regular meetings with European Chamber representatives.
