On 2nd June 2008, the PRD Board Members met the CCPIT Shenzhen (China Council for the Promotion of Intl Trade Shenzhen sub-council) and had a successful meeting to discuss cooperation possibilities.

CCPIT made an introduction to its organisation, the 32 forums and fairs they organise, and in particular the fair on Safety (Sept 2008), the Intl Trade Fair (Nov 2008) and the Innovation Design Fair. They also organise a number of fairs abroad. CCPIT informed the European Chamber that 400 Shenzhen companies have invested in Europe via the delegations outside China. The activities of CCPIT include consultation on litigation and their organisation also has an established legal department.

CCPIT has advised the Mayor to make Shenzhen city into a sourcing platform. The Mayor has requested a centre for branding, to assist the companies in Shenzhen to develop their brands outside of China.

CCPIT Shenzhen has confirmed that they are willing to introduce the Shenzhen government bodies to the European Chamber, in order to exchange information and views according to the requirements of the member companies. The meeting offered a great opportunity to exchange information and conduct interesting discussions between key contacts at both organisations.

The representatives from CCPIT Shenzhen were very pleased to receive the European Business in China 2007/2008 Position Paper, which was presented by the Chairman of the Board.
