The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) held a Human Resources Forum discussing the theme of "Salary Management and Talent Incentives" on 23rd July, 2008.

The forum, held in the Sofitel, attracted more than 60 participants, including HR professionals from Bayer, Duravit, Emerson, Intel, Lafarge and Nokia. After a brief introduction from Ms. Zhou Yue, General Manager of the European Chamber in Chengdu, Mr. Xu Yong, advisory director of Hewitt Chengdu and with many years of HR management and practical experience, gave a speech to the forum.

Mr. Xu spoke about current problems facing China's HR profession, including low employee retention and the difficulties of talent management and compensation. His speech also touched on leadership and management development, executive compensation, organisational change and mergers and acquisitions.

The HR Forum is a monthly event for HR professionals to meet and discuss issues related to their industry and offers a platform for experts to outline their views.

Participants praised the forum and expressed a wish for more such events in the future.
