Following months of whispers about the actual opening date of Nanjing IKEA, it has recently been officially announced that from August 28th, the Swedish Chain's Nanjing store will be open for business.

As the largest retailer of furniture and domestic appliances in the world, IKEA so far has 6 stores in Mainland China. The Nanjing branch is the 6th and the largest. According to insiders at IKEA the style and layout will be very similar to the other five stores which are located  in Beijing, Chendu, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Shenzhen, Nanjing IKEA will be a of three story building, the full product line that has been established in the other stores will also be available in the Nanjing store.

Located nearby Kazi Gate Square, the newstore is capable of receiving as many as 1,390 motor-driven vehicles and 500 non motor-driven vehicles in its underground parking lot.
Total investment for this store is estimated at 54 million USD. When opened for business it is estimated annual sales revenue will reach 440 million RMB.
