A TOTAL of 38 foreigners were yesterday presented with the Magnolia Award for outstanding contributions to the city.


Li Mingjun, director general of the Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office, presented a framed certificate and a medal to each prize winner.


Coming from countries including the United States, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Britain, Canada, Chile, France, Germany, India, Japan, Singapore and Venezuela, the winners were from many walks of life – entrepreneurs, senior managers, technological experts and professors.


They all have one thing in common: They have played positive roles in promoting Shanghai’s international relations in the fields of economy, science, technology and cultural communication.


KK Ho, Chairman of the European Chamber Shanghai Chapter was one of the proud 38 foreigners to receive this award.
