On 30th October, the European Chamber held its 1st Annual Beijing HR Conference at the Grand Millennium Hotel. Entitled “Rising to the HR Challenges in China,” this full-day event brought together leading HR experts from across China, Hong Kong and Singapore. Conference speakers addressed issues central to the China HR imperative through two morning panel sessions and eight afternoon break-out sessions.

 

The first morning panel, moderated by European Chamber Beijing HR Forum Vice-Chair Kai Martinsen saw four China CEOs of HR service provider’s discuss the role of HR in achieving a sustainable growth strategy in China. The CEO panelists emphasized the special importance taken on by HR concerns given the challenging economic outlook. The second morning session brought together HR Directors from leading MNCs and was moderated by European Chamber Beijing HR Forum Chair Garry Wang. This second panel explored the importance of corporate culture as a success factor in China.

 

After the lunch and some networking around an exquisite buffet, participants joined the afternoon break-out sessions of their choice. All participants were able to choose three topics from a list of eight, including:
