Representatives from EUCCC Cosmetics Working Group had a meeting with officials from CNDA, Hainan FDA, and representatives from China Deputy Free Group and Hainan Duty Free Co. Ltd, to discuss the Shanghai Pudong Imported Nonspecial Cosmetics Notification Pilot policy, its implementation and impact to Hainan island duty-free shops.The Pudong notification is not valid when importing products by Hainan island duty-free shops, which prevents companies participating in the pilot from taking full advantage of the benefits.
The industry suggested the notification certificate be recognized and applied to customs declarations in all ports, including Hainan. Though CNDA did not accept the industry’s suggestion at the meeting, they promised to consider it and provide a solution to the industry afterwards. All sides thought that it was a very good discussion.
