2015 marks the 20th anniversary of WTO commencement. Though it has made great contributions to growth in world trade, the WTO is facing new challenges. The Doha Round has been protracted, and global trade growth has seen decline in recent years. China has achieved great success during the 14 years since joining the WTO, yet the year 2015 is characterized by an economic “new normal” with a more modest growth rate. These challenges call for the WTO, China, and other economies to discuss new methods and pathways for growth.
The University of International Business and Economics and the China Society for World Trade Organization Studies are proud to co-host the 2015 China Trade Forum – China’s Growing Leadership in World Trade on November 11, 2015 at the Raffles Beijing Hotel. Government officials, academic and business experts from China and abroad will gather to discuss:
- Global trade trends and China’s development;
- The future of WTO and China’s role in the global trading framework;
- The orientation of China’s trade policy,
- Foreign companies’ adaptation to China’s economic new normal, and other relevant much-talked-about topics.
The US-China Business Council, the European Union Chamber of Commerce and Johnson & Johnson will also actively support and participate in this forum. You are sincerely invited to attend this forum and join our discussions.
