Europe - Back on Track
The inside view from EU head in Hong Kong
Over the past few years the European Union (EU) experienced its most serious economic and political crisis since it was established, and many challenges still remain, such as high unemployment, deflationary pressures and raising private sector investment.
However, it is now gradually returning to health, helped by Member States' reform policies. Although growth in the Eurozone economy is modest it is continuing its upward trajectory, with growth of 1.3% in 2015, forecast to increase to 1.8% in 2016.
Mr Vincent Piket, Head of the Office of the European Union to Hong Kong and Macao, will take stock of the key measures already in place, as well as those in the pipeline, to help EU member nations grow. He will also discuss trade and investment between the EU and Asia, especially Hong Kong. Participants will learn valuable information that will help them make strategic decisions regarding their own operations in China. There will also be the opportunity to ask Vincent Piket and other VIP guests questions at the end of the presentation.
