The European Chamber is happy to invite you to the kick-off meeting of the Corporate Social Responsibility Forum (CSR Forum) which will take place onsite from Beijing and online on 28th March 14:00-16:00. If you want to join this meeting, please register here or contact Mr. Ziyao Jing at zyjing@europeanchamber.com.cn before 25th March COB.
The main topics for this meeting will be the review of the activities of the Forum in 2023, as well as the establishment of the Forum priorities for 2024. Thus, members are strongly encouraged to join the discussion and provide input on the key issues which will likely shape the activities of the Forum this year. Please find attached for your reference the Forum Position Paper that was developed and rolled out in September 2023.
During this meeting we will hold our 2024-2025 chair elections. Forum members interested in running for this year’s Chair elections, should take notice of the attached Call for Candidate email sent on March 7th.
For the Corporate Social Responsibility Forum members who are interested in running for this year’s leadership, please find the attached Starter Kit for the Chairs/Vice Chairs and application template. The summary of the application is provided below.
- Roles and Responsibilities
The Chair and Vice Chairs play a significant role in driving the Corporate Social Responsibility Forum, including a leadership role in the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to Chinese and European government authorities and steering the Forum meetings. The desired qualifications of a Chair and a Vice Chair are a representative with relevant expertise and government contacts who has the time and willingness to support the Forum. The experience in participating the Forum in the past year is essential. Before applying for the position of Chair or Vice Chair, we recommend that you obtain an approval from your company. - Positions
The Corporate Social Responsibility Forum in Beijing is going to elect one Chair and one Vice Chair.
- Application
The Chair and Vice Chair should represent different sectors and issues. If you are interested in running for Chair or Vice Chair, please submit the following information to Mr. Jing Ziyao (zyjing@europeanchamber.com.cn) before 6 pm, Friday, 15th March 2024.

• Motivation letter on why you wish to be elected Chair or Vice Chair, including:
- The position you are planning to bid for
- Why you wish to be elected Chair or Vice Chair
- How your background and experience match the role
- The goals you have for the Corporate Social Responsibility Forum for 2024/2025 term
- How you intend to utilize or share professional resources for the benefit of the Forum
- Whether you hold a position in another Chamber or industry association.
Candidates bidding for these positions will introduce themselves and their goals for the Corporate Social Responsibility Forum for 2024/2025 term. Should you be interested in putting your name forward for election or nominate any candidate, please read the attached “The Starter Kit for Chairs” and send a short biography and a motivation letter, stating the position you intend to bid for and your motivation to Mr. Jing Ziyao at zyjing@europeanchamber.com.cn by 6 pm, Friday, 15th March 2024.
In accordance with European Chamber internal guidelines, another email will be sent to the Forum prior to the election, with the biographies and motivation letters of all candidates attached. The duration of the term for both Chairs and Vice Chairs is one year. All elected Chairpersons must sign the Code of Conduct following the election.
