HCE WG Meeting – Thursday, 17th March, 13:30 – 15:30
Dear European Chamber Healthcare Equipment Working Group members,
The European Chamber would like to invite you to join the next HCE working group meeting which will be held at 13:30 on Thursday, 17th March at both the European Chamber Beijing and Shanghai offices simultaneously.
The agenda items for this meeting are as follows:
1. Identify the Key Recommendations for the HCE section of the Position Paper 2011
2. Conduct the Elections for the Chairs and Vice Chairs of the HCE WG
3. Presentation on the Anti-Monopoly Law as it is relevant for medical device manufacturers
4. Lobby updates and upcoming actions
Considering the importance of this meeting, the European Chamber highly recommends your participation in this meeting. Please register with Ms. Danning Chen at dchen@euccc.com.cn by 12:00 on 16th March and please kindly specify in which office you will attend the meeting.
Position Paper Key Recommendations Identification
The Healthcare Equipment Working Group will begin discussions on the Position Paper for 2011, in particular with regards to identifying the Key Recommendations. As the Position Paper forms the basis of our lobbying, members are strongly encouraged to consult widely within their own company in advance of the meeting so that they can then table such recommendations for discussion at this meeting. Last year’s Position Paper is attached for your reference.
Chairs and Vice Chairs Elections – Call for Candidacy deadline Thursday 10th March
The HCE Working Chairs and Vice Chair play a crucial role in driving the Working Group, including a leadership role in the drafting of the Position Paper, communicating key messages to the Chinese and European governments, and steering the Working Group meetings. The desired characteristics of a Chair or Vice Chair are a senior industry representative with relevant industry expertise and government contacts who has the time and willingness to support the group. It is possible to have at most two Chairs and two Vice Chairs for the Working Group.
Please find attached the Roles and Responsibilities of a Working Group Chair. Please note that this document should be signed upon election to the position of Chair or Vice Chair.
To apply for either the position of Chair or Vice Chair, it is necessary to inform the Business Managers of the Working Group, Mark Rushton (mrushton@euccc.com.cn) and Penny Zhao (yzhao@euccc.com.cn) by close of business on Thursday, 10th March. To apply, you must provide a short bio, as well as a short mission statement why you would like to run for Chair or Vice Chair.
Presentation on the AML
The HCE WG is proud to announce that Mr Pan Zhicheng (CV English CV Chinese) has confirmed that he will speak at the WG meeting on the Chinese Anti Monopoly Law as it relates to medical device manufacturers. Mr Pan Zhicheng is a renowned expert on Competition and Anti-monopoly Law. He is an Attorney-at-Law and the Secretary of the Foreign Investment and Antimonopoly Law Research Committee of the Shanghai Bar Association.
