Business Environment & MNCs in China – Making the Right Moves
Multi-nationals face a variety of challenges operating in China. Economic growth has slowed, but costs continue to rise. Some company organisational structures are overly complex after a decade of booming growth.
Panelists will discuss key challenges including rising costs, talent shortage, investment barriers, and licensing issues as well as strategies companies employ to manage these challenges and succeed in China.
KPMG’s report features interviews with senior executives of some of the world’s largest MNCs for their views on challenges of doing business in China and the opportunities for growth.
The multinationals interviewed in KPMG’s report represent a broad range of countries and sectors, from global retailers (VF Group and Marks & Spencer); logistics (DHL); chemicals (BASF and Clariant); real estate (CBRE); pharmaceuticals (Pfizer); food & beverages (PepsiCo); consumer goods (Unilever); technology (eBay and Lenovo); manufacturing (United Technologies, Eaton)
The US-China Business Council (USCBC) annual membership survey incorporates a unique mix of US- and China-based executives from across sectors. Respondents were almost equally divided between those based in China and those based in the United States, and range from CEOs of global corporations to executives based in the field.
