The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the next Construction Working Group meeting. It will be held on Tuesday, 16th April 9:30 – 11:00 at the European Chamber Beijing and Shanghai offices, and online.
As the push for the green transition continues globally, the EU has enacted several new ESG regulations, which require large and listed companies to publish regular reports on the social and environmental risks they face, and on how their activities impact people and the environment. These rules are outlined in the 2023 Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) framework, which strengthens the rules concerning the social and environmental information that companies have to report. While these regulations do not target Chinese suppliers, questions have emerged – for European and Chinese stakeholders – regarding compliance amidst data transparency and reliability concerns.
At this meeting, Johnny Browaeys of CNEUCN will introduce data exchange initiatives in Europe and explain how China’s digital platforms can be used to enable both European and Chinese companies to manufacture low-carbon products and together decarbonize the overall value chain. The session aims to foster cross-working group exchanges, covering supply chain resilience, managing ESG risks, EU compliance, and last but not least, discovering opportunities to benefit from collaborative innovation.
