The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China is delighted to invite you to the breakfast seminar What's Next in China's Progress towards Sustained Economic Growth? from 8:00am to 10:00am, on Wednesday 17th April 2013, at the Four Seasons Hotel.
The Speakers, Michel Aglietta, Professor of Economics at Paris X-Nanterre University and Ms Guo BAI, PhD Candidate in strategic management at HEC Paris, will share with attendees their unique analysis of the Chinese economy and their expectations for future reforms based on the research that formed the basis of their book China’s Development: Capitalism and empire (La Voie Chinoise: Capitalisme et Empire).
It is often difficult for Western observers to quantify China’s transformations without an existing model as reference. Which type of market economy does China have? How can the Chinese economy perform without rules of law and separation of powers?
In their book Aglietta and Bai have attempted to answer these and other important questions by integrating Chinese philosophy with the theories of development economics in a historical context.
