The European Chamber will again host its popular ‘Mergers & Acquisitions Conference’ after the summer break. The focus of this half-day conference will be on recent inbound M&A activity, i.e. M&A deals into China. A diverse range of experts will lead us through comprehensive discussions of China’s current M&A environment, its system of ‘Regional Investment Zones’ and its attraction for European investors.
While Chinese acquisitions of overseas companies hit a record high in 2013, the value of inbound deals has stagnated in recent years. In terms of numbers, inbound M&A deals are evenly distributed amongst industries that have been experiencing relatively strong growth.
Stimulated by newly issued government policies and the expected global economic recovery, inbound deals are expected to pick up during the remainder of the year.
