Job description
Event organisation & sponsorship sales:
· To define topics, speakers, etc. for events with the GM
· To organise events, and make sure that every logistic detail is taken care of and to deal with suppliers (hotels, translators, wine, backdrops, summaries, etc.)
· To draft and send out invitations by diverse means
· To make phone call invitations to companies and partner organisations to make sure that target number of participants are reached
· To prepare sponsorship documents, potential sponsor research to promote the event through diverse channels
· To sell sponsorships.
Media relations & development of Chamber branding:
· To develop and exploit Chamber branding strategy & action plans
· To maintain close relationship, negotiate and develop partnerships with diverse media, such as magazines, newspapers, TV channels, etc.
· To coordinate with marketing related colleagues in other chapters
· To participate in diverse networking events
Chamber publication & marketing materials development & advertisement sales:
· To draft, updated, develop and manage all chamber related publications and communication materials (Chamber events report, event updates, TJ Focus, Eurobiz, BCS, etc.) and make sure that our events, news, etc. are promoted as a maximum
· To sell advertisements
Support on Government relations:
· To prepare and draft meeting invitation both to government officials and to member managers
· To take notes and draft meetings minutes
Office maintenance & others:
· To make sure that the office materials are adequate
· To make sure that postals are done & back-uped correctly
· To update our database
· Any other activity or task as directed by the GM according to need
Skills & experience
· University degree in a communication/economic related subject
· At least 1 year of related experience in a marketing or event organising role
· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
· High degree of accuracy
· Confident in dealing with clients and negotiating with suppliers
· Outgoing, flexible and proactive, with a team-player attitude
· Near-native fluency in English required
· Chinese language ability preferred, and knowledge of other language (German or French) would be a definite asset
