About the company
The European Chamber is an independent, non-profit, lobbying organisation governed by and for our members. We have over 1,600 members spread across 7 different Chapters in China, representing foreign-invested enterprises of all sizes from a wide range of business sectors operating across China. With 25 working groups and forums, the Chamber represents almost all European industries operating in China.
We are looking for an intern for our Shanghai Chapter who can support the team in charge of the 2019 Sustainable Business Awards, Awards ceremony and CSR Forum activities for a period of six months.
Key activities include monitoring laws, regulations and policies related to CSR in China, support work for the 2019 Sustainable Business Awards, support the European Chamber staff with the coordination and organisation of CSR Forum meetings and events as well as with the European Business in China Position Paper and other related activities.
Job description
Key responsibilities:
- Create and update promotional materials for the Sustainable Business Awards (certificates, brochure,etc);
- Preparation of agreements with media partners, knowledge partners and other supporting partners related to
the Sustainable Business Awards;
- Design the Awards overall messaging for the different platforms and promotional opportunities of the
Sustainable Business Awards;
- Identify and reach out to local and international platforms to promote the Sustainable Business Awards;
- Support in the identification of an NGO to potentially create the trophies for the awardees;
- Promote the Sustainable Business Awards Initiative to potential candidates, sponsors and attendees;
- Process applications to the Sustainable Business Awards and update the team on a frequent basis;
- Support the coordination with the speakers of the 2019 Sustainable Business Awards Ceremony;
- Analyse and compile Calls for Comments on legislation drafts;
- Compile and disseminate government updates as per request;
- Regulatory and market research;
- Write meeting minutes and general reports;
- Occasional activities related to CSR Topics and Event matters;
- Track advocacy activities;
- Carry out other tasks assigned by the Senior Business Manager and Senior Membership & Events Manager of the
European Chamber

Skills and experience
- Excellent command of spoken and written English. Mandarin Chinese a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively and timely with persons inside and outside the organisation
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work independently.
- Initiative driven by passion
