Job description:
The “Support and Advice to Sino-German Cooperation on Electromobility – Phase II” project of GIZ is looking for an experienced (>5 years) Senior Technical Advisor (TA) to join a highly-motivated and highly-skilled project team in Beijing.
The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and is implemented by GIZ. The aim of this increased cooperation is to create an enabling technical and strategic environment for the successful development of electro-mobility technology to help solve climate, environmental and transport problems. The project fosters dialogue between the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and its Chinese partner ministries. It advises BMWi on technical and strategic matters, liaises with new contacts and provides organisational support.

Your tasks
- Independently preparing and implementing project activities (e.g. studies, workshops) related to electromobility
- Independently evaluating political, technological and industrial developments in the field of electromobility in China and preparing briefings and factsheets on such developments (e.g. market access, subsidies, technological developments, charging infrastructure)
- Conducting research work related to electromobility in China
- Maintain and actively develop a high-level comprehensive network of relevant experts and stakeholders in the electromobility sector.
- Developing new project activities related to electromobility and contributing to the development of new projects,
Skills & experience
Your profile
- You are an expert in the field of electromobility
- with a relevant university degree (e.g. in engineering or economics)
- with at least 5-7 years of relevant professional work, ideally in an international environment
- You speak fluent Chinese (native speaker) and English (knowledge of German is a plus),
- You have strong writing skills (English and Chinese, German is a plus)
- You are creative and have strong analytic and research skills (experiences on policy advising is a plus),
- You are open-minded, curious and willing to learn,
- You are a strong team-player who works reliably, pro-actively and follow-through with your commitments,
- You have some project management experience,
- You are used to work with MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
