Job description
Who You'll Work With
The Market Manager is an experienced member of the Markets Team. The role will report to the Area Manager and has ownership of key cities or countries within the market. Where business and market conditions allow the Market Manager manages the executives who provide support for their area of the market. This involves providing coaching and mentoring executives on a day-to-day basis. This role requires the ability to use all of the reporting tools available to identify potential opportunities and solve more complex cases. The Market Manager has the ability to work on own initiative with only a moderate level of guidance required from the Area Manager.
What You'll Do
• Full ownership of key cities/countries within the market.
• Responsibility for improving performance and competitiveness of assigned destinations
• Management and coaching of Market Executives according to business requirements.
• Adoption of Hostelworld Products and Promotional Rates within any assigned destinations or across the market as required.
• Provide clear and detailed reports in relation to destinations they have responsibility for as well as contributing to the Weekly Report as required.
• May champion a particular business area across the wider business and reports on same.
• Successful delivery of GMT OKR’s
Skills & experience
Experience & Qualifications:
•Minimum of 3 years’ working experience in the online travel agency or travel related company
Knowledge & Skills:
• Commercially minded with proven track record in solving complex cases.
• Native-level fluency in Japanese and fluency in English, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical abilities with a proven capacity to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable business strategies.
• Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to construct and deliver clear, persuasive arguments.
• Proven strategic project management skills, with experience leading complex projects and initiatives.
• Extensive industry expertise, particularly in conducting market analysis and applying these insights to develop strategic initiatives.
• Experience in international markets, particularly in Japan, with a successful track record in managing business operations and negotiations.
• Highly driven and a committed team player, with outstanding interpersonal and client relation
