In China, the HSS has four offices and works on the topics of environment and sustainability, social justice and inclusion, good governance and social policy.
Job description
The project office of the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Beijing is looking for an
EU Project Manager (full-time)
Duration: 24 months, starting date 14.10.2024
The Project:
The ARTEUCH project is a 2-year EU-funded intervention on think tank engagement between the EU and China on Green Global Governance in cooperation with the Consulting and Research Center of the Chinese Ministry of Natural Resources. HSF is the primary contact for the EU Delegation and is responsible for ensuring that the partners successfully implement the activities of the project’s ambitious work plan.
The Role:
· Overall responsibility for the implementation of the project vis-à-vis the HSF as well as the EU
· Representation of the project vis-à-vis the EU and external partners
· Budget planning, monitoring and control for the whole project
· Organization, monitoring, analysis and evaluation of project activities
· Control of the accounting of project events and project measures in compliance with the EU and HSF regulations in their latest form
· Reporting to HSF and the EU Delegation. Preparation of quarterly and monitoring reports as well as the interim and final report
· Project progress and deadlines monitoring, detailed project planning and work organization hand-in-hand with the HSF Chief Representatives
· Setup and oversee workflow and quality assurance measures for reports and results
· Organization, preparation, support and follow-up of the project reviews, evaluation and checks
· Contribute to communication and engagement strategies, writing of the communication, dissemination and exploitation plans and reports
· Project-related outreach, presentations and briefings
· Management of the research data generated by the project
· Networking activities, involvement and coordination of relevant external stakeholders and advisors from think tanks, academia, policy
· Organization, supervision and documentation of project meetings, policy events and delegation visits both in the EU and China
Skills & experience
· Post-graduate university degree, preferably topic related
· Relevant professional experience
· Experience in project and research management
· Strong organizational skills and application of (project) management methods and tools
· Solid IT skills (MS Office, etc.)
· Candidate must demonstrate high level of social and intercultural competence (appropriate to the size, international context, and complexity of the project);
· Very good knowledge of Mandarin and English language, both written and spoken (knowledge of German is an advantage)
· Knowledge of Project Cycle Management and Logframe approach
· Independent working style, organizational talent and ability to work in a team
· Resident in China or willingness to relocate to China (however, no secondment possible!)
· Identification with the values and goals of the Hanns Seidel Foundation
