About the company
The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (European Chamber) is an independent, non-profit, advocacy organisation governed by and for our members.
Founded by 51 member companies in 2000, it has grown to more than 1,700 member companies and operates from seven chapters across nine cities including the South China chapter. Our organisation gives our members a common voice and guarantees effective communication channels with European and Chinese governments, business associations and media.
The South China Chapter was established in June 2006, first in Guangzhou and a year later in Shenzhen. Until now the South China Chapter has approximately 300 members constituting mainly European companies spanning across various industries including electronics and telecommunications, machinery and equipment, automotive components, household electrical appliances, logistics, healthcare, trading activities, financial, legal and tax services.
Job description
*The dispatch contract will be signed with FESCO.
The Marketing and Communications coordinator role at the South China chapter is comprehensive.
It mainly covers Media Relations and the development of the Chamber's Branding, as well as the organisation of MarCom forum events. It also includes, but to a lesser extent, some responsibilities linked to the accounting management of the Shenzhen office.
*This position is located in Shenzhen, with occasional trips ton other cities in Guangdong.
MEDIA RELATIONS
· Support, develop, and formulate with the General Manager the Chapter the media and marketing strategy in alignment with the Chamber’s overall strategy.
· Serve as a contact for the Media Relations in South China and maintain the media database. Actively develop new channels for media cooperation to increase the exposure of the European Chamber and maintain the contacts with local media.
· In coordination with the Chapter’s Government Affairs team, identify the issues to be raised through the media and inform the South China media database of any relevant news.
. Organise Press Conference in South China for publication launches and prepare media press releases at local level to develop media mentions.
· Send the latest updates (Publications/EU-China Government Affairs/ Background) to the spokespeople timely.
· Collect and analyse the media mentions to prepare the monthly media report.
MARKETING
· Develop and implement consistent marketing strategy plan
. Promote the chamber activities/events by designing flyers, developing relationship with marketing channels.
. Provide and manage the content for multiple social media platforms, including e-newsletter (South China Focus), WeChat official account, etc.
. Collaborate with membership colleagues to make sure the EuroBiz magazine sending and articles contributions.
Marketing and Communications (MarCom) FORUM :
. Define the MarCom forum strategy withthe forum Chair and Vice Chair
· Understand the members’ interests in the MarCom Forum activities (questionnaire and one-on-one meetings)
· Organize MarCom events including event scheduling, speaker coordination, and event promotion.
. Maintain relationships with forum members, speakers, and potential new members, fostering a collaborative and engaging forum environment.
· Update and develop the MarCom distribution lists and monitor the potential members of this forum.
OFFICE MANAGEMENT:
· Assist in managing the office accounting and liaising with the finance department.
· Oversee tasks done by the MarCom intern, such as the procurement of daily office supplies, handle maintenance requests for office devices and liaise with the management office ; ensure that all offices related files are up-to-date and easily accessible.
Skills & experience
• Creative mind and outgoing character, team player.
• University degree; Knowledge and experience of international trade; Excellent written skills in both English and Chinese; Organisational and presentation skills.
• A previous working experience is preferred, at events organising company, Chamber of Commerce or international organisation will be a plus.
• Knowledge of the design software such us PS, AI, is preferred.
• Good command of the Microsoft Office and basic IT skills.
