Position Overview:
Duke Kunshan University (DKU), a China-US Joint Venture institution founded in 2013, is seeking a Program Assistant for its Global Summer Institute (GSI). Located in the Kunshan Yangcheng Lake Science Park, DKU operates as a non-profit public welfare social organization with independent legal status. With a focus on cultivating future leaders and problem solvers with a global perspective, DKU offers innovative master's education and interdisciplinary liberal arts undergraduate education. DKU aims to prepare undergraduates from China and around the world to recognize current challenges in human wellness, critical environmental and ecosystem issues, cutting-edge technologies shaping our lives, and essential future preparations. The Program Assistant for DKU’s Global Summer Institute will support marketing, recruitment, and delivery of various summer programs hosted by the DKU Office of International Relations.

Director of Chancellors' Office
Essential Duties:
1. Assisting in program marketing efforts including but not limited to delivering recruitment talks, reaching out to domestic and international universities/high schools, developing print materials, videos, social media posts, email campaigns, web renovation, and other promotional activities.
2. Supporting admissions and matriculation processes, including but not limited to performing interviews (if any), responding to applicants’ questions and inquiries, sending offer letters, and collecting payments.
3. Helping with implementations of GSI major events and extracurricular activities, coordinating the lodging of GSI attendees and other logistic support.
4. Supporting program instructors in terms of TA hiring, course set-up and financial arrangements.
5. Collaborating effectively with the supervisor to coordinate logistics and prepare for important guests and delegations.
6. Supporting foreign affairs related events across campus based on DKU’s interests and the needs from DKU community.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.
8. University employees' job responsibilities will continue to expand in scope and depth as the University grows in size and complexity in its programs.
Skills & experience
Required Qualifications:
1. A bachelor’s degree is required, with a master’s degree being preferred. Preferred areas of study include Marketing & Communications, Media & Arts, or English Language and Interpretation.
2. Preferable working/internship experience in communications, project design and program delivering, and/or administrative domain. Previous working experience in relevant areas is highly expected.
3. Fluent English and Chinese proficiency in reading, writing and speaking are required.
4. Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving ability are required.
5. Be comfortable to interact with program students and potential customers.
6. Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential.
7. The ability to work in a team environment is required to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
8. Proficient skills in Windows, Outlook, MS Office and other similar computer programs are required.
