PCR and Environment Working Group Met with Netherlands Delegation on Green Chemistry and Circular Plastics Mission
On 7th September, the Environment Working Group and Petrochemicals, Chemicals, and Refining (PCR) Working Group attended the kick-off session of the Netherlands Green Chemistry and Circular Plastics Mission in Shanghai. PCR Working Group Chair Mr Justin Zhang and Environment Working Group Chair Mr Jet Chang both presented to the mission delegation the current business and regulatory situation regarding green chemistry and plastic recycling.

Meeting with China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Zhejiang Provincial Committee
On 5th September, the European Chamber received a delegation from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Zhejiang Provincial Committee led by Zhejiang CCPIT chairman Chen Jianzhong. The main purpose of this visit is to invite Chamber leadership and member companies to join in the Global Industrial Cooperation Conference 2024 organised in Hangzhou in November of this year. The Chamber representative thanked the invitation and will help to coordinate with potential Chamber's leaders to participate.
South China Chapter Vice Chair Meets with Guangzhou Mayor
On 5th September, Fabian Blake, vice chair of the European Chamber’s South China Chapter, delivered a speech at the Guangzhou Foreign Enterprises Roundtable Meeting. The event, hosted by Guangzhou Vice Mayor Tan Ping, was also attended by Sun Zhiyang, Guangzhou mayor and deputy party secretary. The roundtable served as a crucial platform to discuss business development, investment priorities and the challenges faced by major foreign-funded businesses in Guangzhou, with the goal of boosting confidence in their long-term growth and stability. The European Chamber was the only chamber invited to this event, where it advocated on some of the top issues impacting its members.

On September 4th, Mr Fabian Blake, Vice Chairman of the European Chamber South China Board, attended and spoke at the Guangdong Foreign Enterprises Roundtable Meeting hosted by Mr Zhang Jinsong, Director-General of Guangdong Dofcom in Guangzhou. The roundtable aims to know the difficulties and concerns of enterprises and business entities and then provide corresponding solutions and suggestions.

On 30th August, the Cybersecurity sub-Working Group submitted comments to the Radio Regulation Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on the Radar Radio Management Provisions (Trial) (Draft for Comments). Members from the ICT, Automotive and Auto components WGs suggested to add 57-64GHz to the frequency ranges for short-range detection radars and unmanned aerial vehicle-borne radars to use on an unlicensed basis.
