On 17th April, an advocacy letter was sent to Beijing Municipal People's Government on feedback on challenges of Foreign-Invested Enterprises (FIEs) in Beijing. Following issues were mentioned in the letter:
Since March, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the National Immigration Administration (NIA) issued a notice imposing entry restriction for foreigners. It is said that MFA are considering to establish a fast-track system helping foreign talents to return to China. The Chamber hopes to cooperate with Beijing Municipal Government to help top management team and experts in member companies return to China.
The letter shared the opinions from members on the global macro-economic environment and Beijing government's service in supporting FIEs. Other issues mentioned also including the clarification on the postponement of China 6 emission standard implementation in Beijing. And due to more people driving their own cars to work, the traffic in Beijing is getting worth. It is also suggested to provide more government rental subsidies to a larger population of landlords and tenants, postpone the annual tax return filling deadline from May to June 2020, and reduce Corporate Income Tax and Individual Income Tax to an appropriate level.
