30 years of EPO - SIPO Cooperation Celebrated in Beijing: The European Chamber Contributes.
On 26th November, the European Chamber participated in the second international symposium marking the 30th Anniversary of EPO (European Patent Office) - SIPO (State Intellectual Property Office) Cooperation, this time in Beijing. The EPO and SIPO looked back at the last 30 years of joint projects and achievements, with EPO President Benoit Battistelli and SIPO Commissioner Shen Changyu once again confirming the strong links between the respective organizations and the European and Chinese patent systems.
Meeting with China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Jiangsu Sub-Council
European Chamber Nanjing Chapter visited China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Jiangsu Sub-Council (JSCCPIT). Mr. Wang Xiandong, the Vice-Chairman of JSCCPIT attended the meeting. On the meeting, Mr. Wang stated as JSCCPIT would like to contribute to the partnership of win-win cooperation with the European Chamber Nanjing Chapter. He also expressed his concern on the Jiangsu 2016 Provincial Government Dialogue and made some constructive recommendations based on our draft agenda.

European Chamber Nanjing Chapter met with Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government. Mr. Jin Shangjun and Ms. Sun Bei, the Director and Deputy Director of the Division of European and African Affairs at the department attended the meeting. On the meeting, the two parts mainly discussed about Jiangsu 2016 Provincial Government Dialogue and identified next actions of each part. Both the two parts agreed that the launch of a new round of cooperation on the dialogue will benefit the local government and the European Business in Jiangsu.

The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (European Chamber) appreciates the opportunity provided by to the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) to comment on Operation Manual for the Administrative Enforcement of Law Concerning Patents. The European Union Chamber of Commerce analysed the proposed procedures and drew the attention of SIPO to a number of issues that were identified.
Meeting with Jiangsu DRC Energy Administration
The Director of New Energy and Renewable Energy Department in Jiangsu DRC Energy Administration, Mr. Tang Xuewen met with the European Chamber Nanjing Chapter. This is the first contact between the European Chamber Nanjing Chapter and the Jiangsu DRC Energy Administration. On the meeting, the Novozymes was introduced to the department as the advisory council of the European Chamber. Meanwhile, policies in regard to biofuel were discussed.
