On 14 April, European Chamber Energy, Environment and Standards and Conformity Assessment (SCA) Working Group Chairs met online with China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS) representatives. Topics of discussion included the progress of the EU's policies and regulations under the Green Deal; key standards to address climate change, such as product carbon footprint standards; as well as the feasibility of harmonising EU-China green and low-carbon standards.

It outlines the challenges that companies are facing due to COVID-19 containment measures that have recently been implemented across China, and references data from a recent German Chamber survey on this topic. The European Chamber is keeping in touch with the relevant authorities and is looking forward to following up on the contents of the letter at the earliest opportunity.
