Dear Auto Components Working Group Members,
The European Chamber is delighted to invite you to join the Auto Components Working Group Meeting: The Era of New Energy Vehicles? at Thursday 14:00-16:00 pm, 26th November 2015 at the European Chamber Shanghai Office.
China's new energy vehicles (NEVs) are shifting into high gear fueled by a string of favorable policies, with strong sales despite a lackluster automobile market.
On 29 September, 2015, Premier Li Keqiang chaired the State Council Executive Meeting and reiterated the significance of developing NEVs. During the meeting, it has been decided to optimize related supportive polices, focus on innovation on business models, such as car sharing programme and provide tax and land support and welcome private investment in the charger-building project. In addition, the State Council asked local authorities to lift purchase restrictions and remove traffic controls for NEVs, while retaining curbs for cars running on fossil fuels, to stimulate sales and development of eco-friendly vehicles.
In response, Shanghai Municipal Government has implemented the <Shanghai electric vehicle charging facilities management Interim Provisions>, which clarified the principle of charging facilities construction and liability of main and related stakeholders.
To have a better understanding about the development of NEVs and related policies, the chamber will invite Mr. Guangyu Cao, Deputy General Manager of the Shanghai International Automobile City Group Co.,Ltd. to give a presentation which includes the following topics:
1. Potential challenges and opportunities of the development of the NEV Industry;
