Even though China’s economy is heading for its slowest growth in nearly a quarter of a century, the country’s e-commerce market is booming at a rate faster than ever before. This shows the potential in China’s domestic consumption and signals to domestic and foreign firms the opportunities available. However, to succeed in this market, firms must understand China's economy and consumers, and at the same time, overcome hurdles in setting up online shops. The world of e-commerce has opened up for SMEs ever since online trade has spread its network around China.
The European Chamber is delighted to have Mr. Qian Yi, International marketing and business development Director, Alibaba B2B business unit, Ms. Lynn Zhao, Associate, Mr. Michael Tan, Partner, Taylor Wessing, and Ms. Helena Svensson, Senior Business Development Manager, Blueair China as they discussed how e-commerce is changing the way SMEs do business in China and what’s in store for the sector going forward.
