The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China is delighted to present this opportunity to gain the inside track on B20 China at an exclusive event with Mr Yu Ping, B20 China Sherpa and former Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). Mr Yu will give a general introduction to B20 China and provide an overview of China’s objectives and how the global business community can participate and contribute. Participants will also have the opportunity to interact with some B20 China taskforce coordinators who will join in the event.
The Business 20 or B20—an outreach group of the G20—represents the international business community. Bringing together business leaders from across the globe, it reflects the private sector's role as the driver of strong, sustainable and balanced economic growth. The B20 stages a series of events with the purpose of developing recommendations and securing commitments from global business leaders and business organisations to deal with urgent and significant global issues.
China holds the G20 presidency this year and leaders from G20 countries will meet in Hangzhou in September, 2016. The policy theme of G20 is to build an innovative, invigorated, interconnected and inclusive world economy, around which B20 will provide recommendations from its five taskforces on financing growth, trade and investment, infrastructure, SME development and employment. There is also an anti-corruption forum.
