Dear Working Group member,
We are pleased to invite you to the upcoming joint Beijing & Shanghai Insurance Working Group Meeting, which will take place on Tuesday, 3rd May starting at 9:00am, at the European Chamber Beijing and Shanghai Offices linking via video conference.
At this meeting, Mr. Alan Wu, Partner and National Indirect Tax Leader at PWC will present his insights on the Value-Added Tax for the Insurance sector and how insurance companies should have prepared for it.
Mr. Alan Wu will touch on issues like how to deal with claims in the new VAT system and also he will touch on whether the VAT payments will be able to be offset periodically between the insurance companies and the tax bureaus. He will also try to clarify the impact that the tax reform on different business lines (i.e. reinsurance activities)
