The slowing auto market is reshaping the automobile industry in China. Companies are facing the reality of lower growth rate in production and sales volume, and an increasingly competitive landscape with more and more local companies, joint ventures and SOE’s entering the playing field. But the greatest single source of aggravation in this industry is the high rate of employee turnover.
Recruiting and retaining talent— as well as the lack of talent in certain functional areas — lead the list of concerns for automotive companies. The realities of rising labor cost, high attrition rate and decreasing employee loyalty are consuming the time and efforts of many HR professionals in this industry. However, for many automotive industry executives, the only way to better position their companies for the new opportunities presented by the industry’s next phase, is to raise their investment in talent management and to treat human capital with the same rigor as a capital asset investment.
The European Chamber is delighted to have Ms. Rosanna Terminio, Managing Partner, AsecorpChina and Mr. Patrick Gong, Consulting Director of Mercer Information Solutions Team, Mercer as they share their innovative ideas and practices that identifies key performers and reduce turnover.
