The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to a joint meeting of the CSR and Legal & Competition Working Groups. It will be held on Monday, 6th June starting at 16:00 at the European Chamber’s offices linking Beijing and Shanghai via videoconference.
At this meeting we will have the pleasure to welcome Ms Sherry Gong, Counsel, Hogan Lovells. Ms Gong will give a presentation on the ramifications of the new NGO Law.
From the presentation:
The new NGO Law that was passed at the end of April 2016 has potentially far-reaching ramifications for the full range of foreign NGOs that are operating in China. Before the new law takes effect on 1st January, 2017, it therefore is highly important that both foreign NGOs and European stakeholders that work with them fully understand its requirements and potential ramifications. As a result, the presentation will examine what will and will not be changed by the new law, how various types of organisations should prepare and issues to remain aware of as the Chinese authorities move to implement it.
