In 2020, the part of the Chinese population, who is over 60 years old, will reach 243 Million. In 2025, this figure will surpass 300 Million.
In recent years, the aging society in China has faced pressure and challenges from hospitals, nursing homes, community centers, rehabilitation centers for the disabled and other welfare institutions. These challenges not only include the need of advanced medical equipment, but also these of a highly qualified medical and nursing staff. Therefore, we must study the industry of elderly care in developed countries, in order to benefit from their advanced technology and experience, humanistic design and management as well as their service-orientated industry. This will provide us with directions or even a shortcut in establishing a suitable Chinese development model combined with our own characteristics.
This forum will introduce the advanced technology, services and experience of the European elderly care industry. Among the presented topics are special nursing skills for Alzheimer, the newest equipment and technology of the elderly care industry, training for highly qualified nursing staff, design of smart buildings, intelligent elderly care, and investment possibilities in the European elderly care industry. The forum will be held at the Hamburg House located in the Urban Best Practice Area, whereas China Aid will be held the next day at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Government officials from Europe and China, representatives from research institutions, hospitals, nursing homes, sanatoriums, domestic and foreign media as well as providers of products and consulting services in the elderly care industry will attend the meeting.
