In view of the continuing economic deceleration, many European companies in China are revising down their plans to expand their domestic operations through mergers & acquisitions (M&A).
However, not all sectors are equally affected by this trend.
As China tries to overhaul the structure of its economy guided by policy initiatives such as the 13th Five-Year Plan and Made in China 2025, the number of M&A deals in higher value-added manufacturing and the consumer sector is set to increase while the number of those in labor-intensive manufacturing is set to decrease.
At the European Chamber’s ‘Inbound M&A Conference 2016’ a host of speakers from industry, investment banks, law firms and professional services companies are set to discuss where inbound M&A activity is headed in the times of the ‘new normal’.
