1. Presentation of the Programme of the 3rd European Chamber HR Conference - HR Challenges 2008
Building on the successful HR Conferences in 2005 and 2006, the European Chamber of Commerce in China, Shanghai Chapter, is delighted to to announce that the 3rd European Chamber HR Conference will be held this coming 28th November 2007. 2. Update on the Position Paper Launch

3. Psychometrics and the China Challenge, Presentation by James Morkley-Kirk, Partner of China Select
James Morkley-Kirk's presentation will cover some principles, examples and challenges of using psychometrics in China.
After a career as a telecommunications officer in the British Army, James joined the Swire Group in 1990 in Hong Kong. He then spent 8 years on the international management team of Cathay Pacific Airways. Living and working across Asia, James performed roles in marketing, HR, and government relations before taking up the position as General Manager of airline operations in Africa and the Indian Ocean. He left the corporate world to study Mandarin at BLCU in Beijing, followed by two post-graduate degrees in the UK in psychology and occupational psychology. In 2003, James returned to China to work as a senior consultant at IWNC in Shanghai, where he designed and delivered team and leadership development programs for multi-national companies such as Maersk, GM, Honeywell, Nokia, and BNP Paribas. In 2006 he set up China Select, a psychometrics company based in Shanghai and Beijing, where he is currently a director and partner. He is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society, an affiliate member of the American Psychological Association, and founder of the Shanghai Network of Business Psychologists.
