The European Chamber’s Carbon Market and Energy WG would like to invite you to the next joint Carbon Market and Energy Working Group meeting. It will be held on Friday, 23 September, 9:30 h – 11:30 h at the European Chamber Beijing office. Members in Shanghai will join this meeting via videoconference.
Looking forward for the 22nd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 22) to the UNFCCC which will take place in Marrakech from 7 to 18 November 2016, Dr. Jiang Kejun, senior researcher at Energy Research Institute (ERI), will hold a presentation about China’s domestic actions to move towards a low carbon economy in the post-Paris context. This will be followed by a Q&A session.
Dr. Jiang Kejuan is a senior researcher at ERI, National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). He began his research on climate change relatively to energy policy analysis in 1993, focusing on energy technology policy assessment, energy supply policy assessment, renewable energy development and energy conservation. From 1997, Dr. Kejun participated in Working Group III of the International Panel on Climate Change Third Assessment Report and was a lead author for the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report (Working Group Three Chapter 3) and for GEO-4 Chapter 2. Dr Kejun Jiang's recent studies include low carbon emissions scenarios up to 2050, roadmap for air pollution control, assessment on energy and fuel tax, research on China's potential to achieve its energy targets and development of the Integrated Policy Assessment model. He received his PhD in social engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1993.
In the second part of the meeting, the discussion will focus on the presentation of the 2016/2017 Position Paper and on the stakeholders mapping plan aimed at targeting the relevant bodies to address the Carbon Market and Energy Working Groups’ activities.
Tentative Agenda:
9:30 – 10:30: Presentation by Dr. Jiang Kejun, senior researcher at Energy Research Institute (ERI), about China’s domestic actions to move towards a low carbon economy in the post-Paris context, followed by Q&A session.
10:30 – 11:30: Discussion about the stakeholders mapping plan to promote the 2016/2017 Position Paper. Discussion on the upcoming WG activities.
