Earlier this year the central government began the process of streamlining and consolidating mandatory standards. This consolidation effort is already having a major effect on industry with over 11,000 specific standards already having been repealed or downgraded to ‘voluntary.’
This process marks the beginning of a wider push for greater alignment with international standards and is part of a commitment from the Chinese government to reduce the proportion of low-end consumer products, to develop high-end consumer products, and to establish a system that is both leaner for business and one which safeguards the consumer.
During this dialogue we will be joined by leading multinational companies and government agencies to discuss the continued development of this standardization reform and the best practice of European companies in remaining compliant with the evolving regulatory framework.
