The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the next Joint Working Group Meeting led by the Construction Working Group on Tuesday, 25 April, 2PM-330PM, at the European Chamber Beijing Office. Members from Shanghai Chapter are welcomed to join in the meeting through videoconference system at our Shanghai Office.
On 5 March, Premier Li Keqiang mentioned in the Government Work Report that in 2016 the government promoted more balanced development between regions and between rural and urban areas. He emphasized the significance of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Integration. Pursuant to the work report, in 2017 the Chinese government will take solid steps to pursue a new type of urbanisation by further supporting regional development and growth of small and medium cities.
On 1 April, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), together with the State Council and President Xi made the announcement of decision on establishing the Xiong An New District as the national new district, which will be the third national new district after the Shanghai Pudong New District and Shenzhen Special Economic Zone.
The Chamber will invite Ms. Zheng Mingmei, Director of Smart and Low-Carbon City Department, China Centre for Urban Development of NDRC and Secretary General of Smart City Development Alliance of NDRC to provide exclusive insights on the plan of Xiong An New District under the development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Integration, and provide updates on the development of smart cities after the National People’s Congress and Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (Two Sessions), followed by the roundtable discussion with our members.
