The European Chamber is pleased to invite you to the next Joint Working Group Meeting led by the Environment Working Group on Monday, 19 June, 2PM-4PM, at the European Chamber Beijing Office. Members from Shanghai Chapter are welcomed to join in the meeting through videoconference system at our Shanghai Office.
On 10 November 2016, the State Council released the Implementation Plan on the System of Pollutants Discharge Permit, followed by the Interim Measures on Administration for Pollutants Discharge Permit (attached) issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) on 23 December 2016, both of which have outlined the objectives and basic requirements. In 2017, MEP’s Department of Pollutants Discharge Permit has been drafting the technical specifications on application and approval for pollutants discharge permit for identified industries, including cement, petrochemical, iron and steel, coking chemistry and paper making industries, among others.
Through two months’ coordination with MEP, the chamber will invite Ms. Tong Li, Deputy Director of MEP’s Department of Pollutants Discharge Permit, who is in charge of standards and implementation of China’s pollutants discharge permit policy, to interpret relevant policies and regulations and introduce the status quos of implementation along with future plans, followed by the roundtable discussion with our members.
