Change is the rule of the day, especially in China, and in the coming years much more disruptive and transformational change lies ahead. Thus, leaders need to be well equipped with skills, tools and techniques helping them to orchestrate complex processes while creating the basis for a commonly shared vision, buy-in and true commitment.
Despite all the research done on change and transformations in recent decades, a large proportion of change initiatives still fail to deliver. In this 1-day workshop we focus on the key factors that often make change initiatives more challenging than expected: culture, leadership and the need for behavioral change.
This workshop is led by a course faculty with long-standing China experience helping foreign-invested companies master turnaround situations by increasing an organization’s change readiness.
We will discuss questions as:
• What are the crucial success factors in change?
• How to ensure buy-in?
• How to achieve lasting behavioral change?
• How to keep motivation and momentum up during change?
• How to align people around a common language and big picture view of the change process and a common understanding of the most critical aspects of your change program?
• How to deal with a lack of commitment or resistance?
In this workshop we build upon the practical experiences and insights of participants and connect them to theoretical frameworks. In particular, we will revisit John P. Kotter’s famous 8-Step Model and use a self-chosen case to learn how to apply it in practise.
At the end of the workshop participants should get a decent understanding of how to master key challenges as:
• Building a clear vision of the future
• Creating enthusiasm for change
• Explaining the rationale for change – demonstrating how the change creates value
• Getting buy-in and creating ownership
• Dealing with resistance.
